Marty Seifert and Pam Myhra
Real Leadership for Minnesota’s Future
Marty Seifert is a life-long Minnesotan and experienced leader who loves this state and is running for governor to make Minnesota a better place for families, businesses and future generations. Marty was a public school teacher, college admissions counselor, Realtor, leader in the Minnesota Legislature and head of a hospital foundation. Today, he runs a small business with his wife Traci in Marshall, MN.
Marty believes the government should be a servant to the people, not the other way around. During his time in the legislature, Marty was an effective leader and balanced his committee budgets without raising taxes. He led initiatives to reform welfare, rein in spending, and streamline government services.
Born April 23, 1972 in Springfield, Minnesota, Seifert grew up as the youngest of six boys on a small family farm near Clements, Minnesota. He is the son of Rita Seifert Holmes and the late Norbert Seifert. His father was a farmer with an 8th grade education and his mother was a teacher and homemaker. He attended grade school at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Morgan and graduated from Cedar Mountain High School (Morgan and Franklin) in 1990.
While growing up, Seifert picked rocks, pulled weeds, picked cucumbers on his hands & knees and did various farm jobs to save money for college. He worked at the Dari King in Redwood Falls while in high school and delivered pizzas for Domino’s Pizza of Marshall while gaining his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Southwest Minnesota State University in 1995 with a secondary teaching license.
He has been a member of Marshall Noon Rotary, the Lyon County Historical Society, the Marshall Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee, Shades of the Past Car Club, the Southwest Minnesota State University Alumni Association, the National Rifle Association, the Sons of the American Legion, a counselor for the American Legion Boys State Program, Cub Scouts, The National Association of REALTORS, The Minnesota Association of REALTORS, the West Central Association of REALTORS, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Catholic United Financial.
State Representative Pam Myhra is a middle-class suburban mom from Burnsville, MN. She has been a strong leader in the legislature on Early Childhood, Education and Tax issues. She is a coalition builder, defeating a multi-term, entrenched Democrat in a swing district to serve in the Minnesota House while outperforming the rest of the GOP ticket. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration, later earning her CPA and working as a manager for KPMG, an international public accounting firm, where she specialized in banking, insurance and government.
Pam is active in her church and community, including her time as Director of a Girl’s Club in the Twin Cities.
